Would you like to know how to maximize your chances to get a score of 79 at the PTE exam on your first try?
Who wouldn’t, right?
With a score of 79, you can pass, and move on with your goals after the PTE. The best part is, with this PTE self study plan, you won't have to spend months and countless hours to prepare for thousands of questions.
Nobody has time for that, in the article you'll discover the crash course way to pass the exam without making studying a full-time job.
Here’s how myself and countless of other people have succeeded with a PTE self study plan.
Learn the Basics of the Exam
The first thing you need to do is get familiar with the different parts of the exam.
After that, you should learn how PTE asks and structures the questions for each one.
The goal is to be familiar with each question type so you aren’t caught off guard when the actual test day comes. We offer information about each section on our website. You can read about the Speaking section here and find out what are the most important exercises for each module.
Make sure to also visit the pages related to reading, listening, and writing.
Test Yourself
To self study for PTE effectively, you need to see where you currently stand, so you can identify your prime focus areas. Don’t waste your time practicing 100-question practice tests, however. You just need to know where you stand to lose the most points, not the 75 questions that you can do well!
-
Take a mock test from one online website. The PTE costs around $320 so you want to make sure you’re 100% confident in passing before you sign up.
-
Make sure your practice test is a scored mock test. This means you’ll receive a score and can see which questions you got wrong at the end.
-
Pick a section and practice the exercises you didn't do well. If you are unsure about the one to do first, select the ones that are the most important score-wise.
Study Your Worst Section
Where did you struggle the most?
When you identify that area, you can self study it thoroughly before your next practice test.
Don’t worry about where you did great since you can replicate those results on the next attempt. Focus on filling in your gaps and you’ll be on your way to passing the PTE.
After you’ve studied and feel like you’ve improved, take another practice test focused only on that section (a sectional test). See your results and determine if you need to study more.
Continue to repeat this workflow, focusing on the exercise you didn’t do well until you feel comfortable in all sections.
Once you’ve been over the 4 sections, you can attempt a full mock test again to review, and repeat the process.
Why Is This Process The Most Effective?
Why is this PTE self study process so effective?
Because it forces you to constantly focus on your weaknesses!
Rather than wasting time studying things you already know, with this process you can make faster progress and you’ll be motivated as you see your knowledge progress.
Focusing on the most important exercises first also helps you to get a higher overall score faster!
This is the winning solution! It keeps you in a very practical mindset. Trust me, after your third or fourth mock tests, you should be able to crush the real exam and get a 79% with ease.
If you’ve tried this strategy, I’d love to hear from you! If not, give it a try and let me know how it worked.
